A shopper has revealed the incredible item she found in a thrift store which two people even tried to steal out of her cart.

Reddit user u/baconreader4eva recently paid a visit to the local Goodwill store in Beaufort, South Carolina, to see what second-hand treasures they had available. And while some items are obvious to see, sometimes you just have to rummage and search for what's hidden away.

Indeed, the 44-year-old was stunned to find a Yeti portable cooler bag that was stowed behind the racks of men's pants. The Redditor told Newsweek that she "knew straight away" that she had to buy it.

It was listed for $7.98, which was a steal given that most Yeti cooler bags sell for hundreds of dollars. This particular model is priced at $599.99 by one online retailer.

However, buying the bag didn't come without its challenges, as two other shoppers tried to take it out of u/baconreader4eva's cart before she paid for it.

"Some lady grabbed it in my cart and said to me, 'you don't want this do you?' So, I snatched it back into my cart and said that I wouldn't have it in my cart if I didn't want it," the Reddit user said.

She continued: "Then on my way to the register, I stopped to look at an ice bucket. I noticed a guy looking at me, and then he walked over and grabbed the Yeti bag. He said he'd buy it from me, but I snatched it back and grumbled under my breath until I got out of the store."

Following that debacle, u/baconreader4eva said they were "genuinely shocked" the bag even made it onto the shop floor, given the apparent clamor for it.

Although it had some dirt on it, the bag looked good as new once it was cleaned. The Reddit user is looking forward to putting it to the test during a road trip in April.

After finding it in the thrift store, she couldn't resist sharing it in a post on Reddit highlighting that "2 people tried to take it from my cart." The post went viral with over 12,000 views and 630 comments on Reddit at the time of writing.

"I think this has been my favorite find because of the amazing experience I've had sharing it. I love to thrift, and though some friends and family don't necessarily agree with thrifting, the online community is just amazing. I have loved reading about everyone else's big finds, and the ones that got away. It's been incredibly uplifting," u/baconreader4eva told Newsweek.

While the positivity and support has been amazing to see, the poster also hopes it will make people see that they can't just lay claim to what's in other people's shopping carts.

The thrifting discovery has certainly captured attention online, leading to more than 630 comments in just a matter of days.

One comment reads: "This is the type of item I go straight to the register for and try and act natural LOL."

Another Reddit user wrote: "I'm sorry.... Tired to take it from your cart? The AUDACITY."

While another person added: "That's an awesome find. I have wanted one of those bags for years now."
